Birthday. Charity. Family. Friends.

This year for my birthday was awesome! I came into work with 6 Diet Cokes welcoming me to my special day. My office made me lunch and gave me a gift card! It was really unexpected because I have only been there for a little less than a month.
Later that night I was able to do my traditional Olive Garden birthday dinner! I have been doing my birthday dinner there since I was in high school! I have loved doing it and now everyone kind of expects it.
Three friends that have been there since the beginning are Jocy, Morgan and Gabi! It is fun because now their husbands come! They have no idea how much their friendship means to me. They have been with me through thick and thin and I absolutely love these girls! They were my bridesmaids and I was there! :) So any time I get to see then I an a happy girl.
My family was there and of course made me feel so special. I literally have the best family! I am overcome by the love and support they show to Parker and I on a daily basis.
On Saturday I was suppose to do my birthday with my Dad and Tammie. But Morgan was throwing a charity event for a girl who is suffering from leukemia. I thought it would be a really good idea to invite the fam and celebrate my birthday doing charity.
Everyone played poker except for Parker and I because we decided to do the raffle. Well little Mason freaking won the whole tournament!!!! He won 4 Jazz tickets and some other fun prizes!  It was an absolute blast!
We ended up meeting the girl and we were so thankful and happy that we could do a little bit to lighten her load.
Honestly the event reminded me how incredibly blessed I am. I have the BEST friends and family. I have an amazing husband and I have the cutest pug! haha
Anyways it really was a great birthday and I so appreciate everyone's birthday wishes! Xoxo!

Our four year wedding anniversary is coming up and because of that our marriage has been on my mind. As I have gone back to work full time I often wonder what I miss with Jagger during those 6-10 hour days. The days used to be our special time to learn, go on adventures and just spend time with one another. Now we try to cram those special moments at night and on the weekends. It's so difficult to be away from him but I am full of gratitude that our bond has stayed intact and that he is so well taken care of by my mom and Jeff.  I feel like I need to document the small things about Jagger because eventually those will be the big things as I look back on them. I love this quote and it pretty much sums up how I feel about my babe... “Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are.” Jagger is such a social butterfly and has no fear of being himself and showing himself to the world. Passenger Seat

Autopilot.... My life feels like it is continuing to move and I am in the passenger seat praying that I don't get hit and hoping I can just coast. It's that checked out feeling and being aware of it but not knowing if you really want to be in the driver seat because you may end up just crashing. It's difficult knowing which one is better right now and maybe it's about recognizing that whether you're the passenger or the driver if you get in an accident you get hurt regardless.      It's interesting how tricky our brain can be about giving us a false sense of hope and to be quite honest, I am surprised my brain still seeks out hope. I heard once that "hope is a discipline" and I'm not sure I have that discipline right now.
